Setting up the blog

Hi Extended Family and Friends:

One of my co-workers showed me how to create a journal on the web or blog and I thought it might be a good way to communicate some of the things I am about to see on a five and a half week journey through Peru and Bolivia.
I am not sure, but I think that every time I post an entry, you’ll get an e-mail with the title of that entry and an invitation to read it by visiting the blog.
You are more than welcome to opt out of any and all of this blog! You can look daily or never or anything in between and I think you can also respond by posting a comment. Just be aware that your comments might be read by everyone on the list (I think.) For more private communication we can use each other’s e-mail addresses.
I hope to be able to post some interesting photos, maybe indicate how to access movies I’m taking, audio, etc.  – Please don’t forward these without permission – I am not publishing all this on the web – permissions are restricted to this group.
Let me know if you can see this!
Thanks,
Sue

If you like, you can set your blog to be automatically emailed to up to 10 people of your choice. Check out the Settings main tab and the Email subtab, and you’ll find where to enter the addresses. You may also want to set the feed permissions for your site, since right now I can’t subscribe to the site’s feed (which delivers updated content to me automatically). Again on the Settings main tab, click the Site Feed subtab and under Allow Blog Feeds, choose Full.Glad you have so readers already, and that they’re so supportive. But of course I should have known!-Bryan (that co-worker!) 😀

Ooh, I found the way to add video to your posts without using YouTube, Sue! When you’re making a new post, note the bar where you select the text font, size, and orientation. The second-to-last icon is a tiny video icon. Click that and then browse to find your file. It says they take .avi, .mpeg, and QuickTime (your .mov files), up to 100 MB!This blog just got a bit more interesting! :D-Bryan
